pokemon ship week is hosted as a love letter to the ships of the pokemon games!the ship week was initially conceputalised out of the thought that it would be nice to have an event for shippers of less popular pairings to participate in, but you're still allowed to draw any ship you want, even if it is on the more popular side! the goal is solely to show love and appreciation for as many pairings as possible.this event specifically is exclusively centered around pairings from the games, and works involving those versions of the characters. this is for multiple reasons, but mostly due to pokespe + anipoke having relatively large separate fandoms of their own, and the current sole moderator of this event not knowing enough about those two universes and their characters to moderate what i retweet/blog.you can draw/write any ship for any of the prompts, you don't even have to stick to one ship for the entire week, since the aim is to show love for as many ships as possible. feel free to do a different ship on any day, multiple ships on any day, or really just however you personally want to participate, as long as you aren't overworking yourself!

rules1. first and foremost, be respectful to other participants and other ships. this event is for to appreciate your own ships and others, so we will not tolerate people sending negativity to others.2. please tag all of your work on twitter/tumblr with #pokemonshipweek2023 so we can retweet/reblog it!3. you do not need to follow the prompts exactly, they are just there to give you potential ideas for your works. you're free to draw whatever you want, as long as it fits the purpose of spreading love and appreciation for your favourite ships!4. nsfw works for the event are not allowed currently, but this could change in future years, but i'd rather keep it sfw. please keep nsfw works out of the tag.5. we ask that you avoid posting ships that would be considered to be problematic, such as minor x adult and incest ships, for the comfort of other participants and the admin of the event.6. as stated in the about, this event is centered around the games. this means that anime and manga ships aren't currently included in the event. however, i have no problem with people posting anime ships where the characters also appear in the games, so long as it's specifically portraying the game versions of those characters (eg. jessie and james' appearances in yellow+lgpe, bea and korrina)7. please refer to the bulbagarden shipping list or the luvdisc shipping list for what to tag ships as! note regarding the luvdisc shipping list: it is much smaller, but has the ships featured categorized by region, and also has some alternate ship names listed.

a. as it currently stands, no. please know that this isn't out of any malice towards ocxcanon shippers, considering the host of this event is a yumejoshi and has an ocxcanon pokemon ship themself, but it's mostly just from the fact that things like ocxcanon week already exist. this event was created so that shippers of pairings that don't have anything like that they could've participated in before now can take part. this decision may change in the future, but for now the event is to focus on canonxcanon ships.q. is this event open to people who have never drawn/written pokemon ships before?
